Why use Mentoring?

By working 121 with someone with lived experience, who has faced the same challenges, students are more likely to relate and engage. Their shared experiences allow mentors to build trust and offer advice on how they dealt with challenges. Peer mentors act as role models and provide practical and emotional support as well as strategies for moving forward positively.

A study by the University of Sussex found that peer mentors had a positive impact on the mental health of the mentees, with benefits including improved self-esteem, increased empathy, and reduced anxiety levels. Peer mentoring can also help to build resilience and coping skills in young people all which contribute to a better attitude to learning.

Andy shares his story of growing up with ADHD and autism, the battles he faced and the mistakes he made which tends to engage students with similar experience. Andy then shares what he has learnt about neurodiversity, the six pillars of health, how to drive dopamine naturally and how to harness the positives and achieve in life.

Andy can cover a top level summary of the 10 part programme in just one mentoring session however most schools / individuals tend to benefit from a series of mentoring sessions. The mentor programme can be adapted to suit your organisational needs and budgets.
